Created, written and hosted for The Town Hall by Scott Siegel, The Broadway By The Year series takes the audience on a musical travelogue through the best of the Great White Way for the year 1947, featuring the hottest talents in Broadway and cabaret. This program features music from Street Scene, Finian's Rainbow, Brigadoon, High Button Shoes, Allegro, and more! Musical Direction is by Ross Patterson.  Single tickets available beginning January 3.

The R.Evolution Latina Effect: 

How one dancer/choreographer is awakening the souls of the NYC Latin community

 He sings the tunes of In the Heights and salsas to the beat with leading Latina ladies on the Broadway stage to packed houses…and in his little or practically no spare time, he is building an empire with a vision that encapsulates something that resides in us all.  Passion.  Behind the R.Evolucion Latina mission, there lies drive, ambition, positivity and community support, and behind that stands Luis Salgado, who’s not only an artist, but he’s becoming an artistic celebration all on his own.   

“I took so much optimism home with me,” stated an un-named guest, as he walked towards the elevator after a powerful and interactive R.Evolucion Latina meeting. 

“It’s not easy to get up out of bed and go to rehearsal after rehearsal; then to auditions and then to work, and sometimes I don’t even want to step foot outside.  But, then I think, ‘Dare to go beyond,’ and in an instant, I feel free as a bird to motivate myself to do my best,” stated Luis at the first Open House. 

And…it resonates from there; the inspirational quotes recited from the greats such as Muhammad Ghandi, participants sharing personal stories of how they made it through their struggles; and by the end of the meeting, the crowd was together- networking and mingling.  The inspiration had begun.  Luis and his activists had made their mark and it continues…

Rolex presents On Broadway! A Glittering Salute To The American Musical- Career Transition For Dancers’, 23rd  Anniversary Jubilee - on Monday, October 27, 2008 at 7:00 pm at New York City Center, 131 West 55 Street (bet. 7 & 6 Aves) NYC.  It will be followed by an Anniversary Supper with the Stars at The Grand Ballroom at The Hilton New York.

On Broadway! A Glittering Salute to the American Musical, is a glorious historical journey inside the Broadway musical seen through the eyes of legendary choreographers. Their choreography transformed Broadway shows into the greatest musicals of all time and their legacy continues to inspire today’s choreographers and dance worldwide.  The Gala will be the entertainment-dance event of the new season.   The spectacular evening will include appearances by dance companies, musicians, dancers, stars and many surprises.  It is produced & directed by Ann Marie DeAngelo.  The host and the honorees for the Gala will soon be announced as well as the recipient of the Rolex Award.

Gala tickets are $600, $750 & $1,200 each, which include the performance and a post-performance ‘Anniversary Waltz Supper with the Stars’, auction and dancing at The Grand Ballroom at The Hilton New York (1335 Avenue of the Americas @ 54th St).
